Dipper is a ridiculously happy, sweet, loving German shepherd of only about 1 1/2 years old that is so deserving of a fresh start in life. He came to us in such a sad way. He had open wounds and a variety of medical maladies, all of which we have treated and boy, is he feeling great! Unfortunately, Dipper was also positive for heartworm disease which we are also treating, but he will need to have his exercise restricted while he finishes out his treatment. This will last until mid-July and after that, Dipper can run, play, and be a total goofball like the puppy that he is! Until then, Dipper will need to remain calm, be leash-walked, and not overexert himself with other pets. He is such a sweet, innocent, loving, well-behaved dog and he is in need of a good home to continue on with his treatment, and for forever after that! We will continue to provide for Dipper's heartworm treatment so don't worry about that. Please give this sweet boy the great home he deserves! Call 609-693-1900 or email: office@ahsppz.org for an application. File#71329 3/25/24

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
