My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please read ALL of bio 1st before inquiring. You can read it in its entirety at https://papillonpalsrescue.com/available-dogs

Max-Neo (We originally named him Neo meaning "new" for his new life but his foster family felt Max fit him better) is estimated to be 4 years old and weighs 5 pounds. ***Secure fenced yard required*** He has not walked on a leash yet and will need training. Rescued from a hoarding situation so he is not socialized but is coming along nicely. With time and patience, he'll be your best buddy. Looking for a family who can show him love and give him plenty of time to learn how life is supposed to be. He's super sweet and trying hard to trust. He no longer cowers or freezes but will sit and wait for you to come and pick him up so he can nuzzle with you. He comes when you call him to go out, eats very well, and insists on being with you at all times. Fine with other dogs, although if they are excitable, he will steer clear. Doesn't pay much attention to cats. Preferably older children 12+, only because he is still learning to trust fully. He will hide if company comes over. However, if someone comes more than once, he will be curious enough to check them out. He is nearly housetrained. He goes out to do his business along with the other dogs but is also potty pad trained. So, if he needs to go and you don't notice, he will go on the pads as a backup. This precious little boy needs to know he's loved and matters!! He would do fine with another dog and/or cat in the house and is just looking for love. He will cuddle with our small dog and likes to sleep with us under the blankets at night.

NOTE: Ari and Max-Neo are somewhat bonded, so they could be adopted together!!! They should do fine by themselves as well, but if you are looking for two, they are darling together!

Interested in learning more about Max-Neo or want to be considered to be his furever family? Please fill out the application so we can get to work on our end to see if we can make a match.

Adoption radius is 250'ish miles from Jacksonville, FL. All other pets must be spayed/neutered & on heartworm prevention.

Additional adoption info

In order to ensure a perfect match, we screen all adoption applicants. We require anyone wanting to adopt to complete an adoption application and we check personal and vet references. Final step before files goes to the Adoption Committee for review is to conduct a home visit with all members of the potential adoptive family. Fees for adoptions vary based on whether the dog's purebred, the age and health status of the dog. Contact us via email and we will send you our Adoption Application and tell you a little more about the dog you're interested in adopting!
