Howdy do! My name is Viv! I am a young hound mix that was lost not too long ago! I was found running around some businesses and a trailer park. Thank goodness someone called Animal Control. I rode to the shelter and got me a big clean dog run, a big bowl of food, and a nice comfy bed! Ahhhhh.....Now that I have rested up, I am ready to meet some new people! I have all of my vaccinations for my age, I have a microchip, and I have been spayed. When I came in with my sister we both had demodectic mange. Shelter employees knew exactly what to do to help me get better! With oral medication and medicated baths my skin has really improved! I still have a ways to go, but I look much better. I hope someone will adopt me and make me a member of their family. Be sure to teach me good doggie manners and give me lots of love!

The placement of our adoptable animals into loving, caring homes and thereby enhancing the bond between animals and people is the primary goal of the Montgomery Humane Society Adoption Program. We focus on education so that every pet owner benefits from their contact with the shelter, whether or not they adopt an animal from us. Matching the needs of the animal and the potential owner, as well as educating potential owners about responsible pet ownership, helps to ensure successful pet placements of shelter animals.

The Montgomery Humane Society prevents cruelty to animals by operating an animal shelter for homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals; by operating an adoption center for healthy animals; by investigating cruelty and abuse cases; and by educating the public in animal owner responsibility.
