Surely someone is looking for their very own Eeyore!! Norbert is our adorable old man donkey who is now looking for his forever home. This rather morose looking fellow was rescued by NARPS when he was getting on a truck to ship to Mexico to be slaughtered. He was emaciated and so very sad and dejected looking… we just had to help him! Fast forward a year and a half, Norbert is looking so much better and is quite the happy guy, despite his Eeyore like woe-is-me vibe. Norbert is in his 20’s but as resilient as he is, we expect him to live forever. This sweet, morose gentleman enjoys a low key lifestyle. He isn’t much of a grazer, but does enjoy his grain and hay. He has a funny personality and comically will hold a grudge for a brief period if you do something to him that he doesn’t approve of. He is loved by his foster sibling equines… and he enjoys their company as well, except for when the youngsters make a game out of playfully chasing the old man. As you can see in the pictures, ‘ole Norbert has some gnarly looking knees with pretty significant arthritis. He gets equioxx (NSAID) daily to help keep him comfortable, which ends up costing around $25/mo. Norbert is good for handling but does need some sedation for his trims, along with a farrier with a sense of humor. ♀ï¸
Norbert would love to find a home with other low key or senior donkeys/horses where he can spend the rest of eternity amusing you with his adorable personality, obscenely cute face, and those out of this world long ears!!!! Norbert promises he would keep you smiling from adoption day forward!!
