My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buford was found by a good Samaritan wandering the streets of LA, starving with ribs showing. After no one claimed him, his rescuers found another big heart who took him in and gave him his necessary vaccinations, neuter and a warm loving temporary foster home with their pack of three. Buford quickly learned how to be a nice dog in a home, while continuing to be taught standard boundaries. This beautiful boxer is a large 90 lb love bug, friendly to all people and nice dogs. Being a young boy, he enjoys and needs lots of activity - so a home with a nice safe yard and lots of outdoor activities with his people would be ideal. He is house trained, pen trained, and can be fine as the only dog if his people are around to give him lots of interaction and activity, or be with a nice pack of dogs who do not mind or get intimidated by a large dog with medium/high energy. Older children would be fine, as he has not yet learned that his size and energy could = a bulldozer to a small child. Buford has a natural nice disposition and with continued boundary setting and solid leash training, he would be the perfect pet for an active household. If you think you are a good fit home for him, please email us at therealbark@gmail.com.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our amazing dogs are fully vetted, fixed, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption. They are then fostered by one of our experienced foster volunteers, who are able to assess temperament and personality and begin any necessary training. An adoption application, adoption fee, and home check are required for adoption.

Not 100% certain whether you're ready to commit to pet ownership? Consider fostering one of our amazing dogs. It is a crucial piece of the rescue process, and you can play a huge part in saving a dog's life, all the while deciding if that dog, or any dog, is the right fit for your lifestyle! If you know you can't be a forever owner but want to help out and get a little puppy love in return, this may be just the thing for you!

All supplies, food and veterinary care are provided to the foster by the rescue. No costs involved to you - just provide a safe and loving environment and we will do the rest! Fostering can be as short- or long-term as you would like, and we can place dogs with you that are conducive to your lifestyle and preferences (small, large, hypoallergenic, etc.)
