My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bones is extremely sweet and playful.  He is awesome with all of the neighborhood dogs and plays with his foster dad's dogs happily throughout the day.  He listens when you call him, and he knows "no" and "sit".  He is sure to quickly catch on to other commands his new family want to teach him. He's still like a puppy, plus he is very well behaved. The best of both worlds. He is just such a great boy!

Bones has no shame when it comes to needing a nap. He will be splayed out on a doggie bed in the house with all 4 legs going in every direction when he is settled in for the night. Or you can find him crashed out in a patch of sun in the yard after a great play date with his furry friends. Or even on the front seat of some John Deer equipment after helping in the yard. You know the old saying, "work hard, play hard"; Bones says, "play hard, sleep hard!"

Bones can be found cocking his head side to side at times when he listens or hears something he is interested in...it's super cute. He has a beautiful white coat with a few black freckles to dot his handsome face and ears. He is ready to share all of his love with you and will make an awesome addition.  Bones has not yet been cat or kid tested. We think with his sweet and calm nature he would be good with children, but we do not know at this time.

Bones has already had a first bath and did fine, has gone on car rides and even sat right in the front seat happy as could be. This sweet, handsome, loveable boy is looking for a forever home and we are wondering...is that you!?!?

As part of Bones’s $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Bones, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home. http://pawsforlifenc.org/pet-adoptions/apply-for-adoption/

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. An adoption fee of $275 for dogs under 6 months $250 for 6 months and older and $95 for cats, Senior Cats $50. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
