My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dutton is a 5 year old, 40 lb Blue Heeler mix. He is such a handsome boy! True to his breed, Dutton is a smart and energetic dog. He loves going on walks, car rides and spending time with his person. He is a part of the herding group, so he will require a lot of exercise to keep his body and brain happy! Ideally, he would do best with another dog his size to keep him company while nobody is home. He is totally housetrained and crate trained. He has just started playing with toys, and the kind with the squeaker are his favorite! Dutton will probably not do well with cats due to his herding instinct. He should be ok with kids over the age of 10. He is very shy and quiet at first, but he already likes to sleep next to his foster mom. Dutton has heartworms because he was not kept on heartworm prevention.
Humane Tomorrow will pay for his treatment with our partner vet, and the treatment is very successful. Please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Submit Application

You may complete an application via our website at http://www.humanetomorrow.org/adopt/.

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters must fill out an application for the animal they want to adopt, which is available on our website. Humane Tomorrow does not do adoptions outside of the DFW Metroplex.

Our adoption fees are...
Cats:
$150 for most kittens and cats

Dogs:
$250-$300 for most puppies and dogs

The adoption fee helps to cover the costs of basic preventative care including spay or neuter, vaccines (including Rabies and virals), heartworm tests and preventative for dogs, FeLV/FIV tests for cats, in addition to extra medical care the animal may need, such as heartworm treatment, dental, or surgery. Often our adoption fees do not even cover costs for basic medical care the animals need, and are certainly cheaper than if all these procedures were covered by the owner.

Humane Tomorrow reserves the right to deny any application for any reason.

More about this rescue

Humane Tomorrow is a non-profit 501(c), all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of unwanted and abused animals in Flower Mound and the surrounding areas. We are also committed to spay/neuter assistance and education to companion animal guardians.

We do not have a shelter, so all animals in our program are placed in temporary foster homes until permanent homes can be found.
