My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

This big beautiful Anatolian girl was found as a stray in Utah over two years ago with not a lot being known about her.  She spent two years in the past living in a pasture and getting some. attention - enough to know that she just doesn't get along with other dogs.  We just let her go home with an adopter and within an hour after they got home they called to say that she had attacked a young adult dog and some puppies - so she is sadly on her way back to us

She does love people and affection and is very friendly, however she is extremely strong and can be a bit of a hand-full when on a leash.

Typically of LGD breeds, she especially appears to not enjoy the company of other females.   We just say that she needs to be the only dog..... not long ago she was with a trainer for two weeks and that is the trainer's recommendation.

ALL OF THAT SAID, WE KNOW THAT THIS SWEET GIRL IS MUCH FRIENDLIER THAN WHAT SHE MAY APPEAR.

WE ALSO BELIEVE THAT SHE NEEDS TO GO TO SOMEONE WHO HAS EXPERIENCE WITH LGD BREEDS.

You can meet this wonderful girl at Old Farm Kennels in Florence and apply to adopt her online here:  https://greatpyrrescuemt.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption

Additional adoption info

Great Pyrenees Rescue, Montana's mission is to help rehabilitate abused and displaced Great Pyrenees dogs, and find them the best forever home.

Adopting a friend
We work hard to find the best home for our dogs. We want this home to be their forever home. An adoption application is required with a vet reference. A home visit is also done. PERMANENT, SECURE FENCING IS REQUIRED Our adoption donation for most dogs is $275.00 for our dogs and this money is used to cover vet expense, spay/neuter charges, transport expense and caring for our dogs until they are adopted. A senior dog age 8 or older and our special needs dogs, we ask for $175.00 donation. This adoption donation is lower because you may need more health care for the seniors or special needs. We want them all to find a happy home and to be loved forever. FENCING FOR THIS BREED NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST 5 FOOT HIGH.
NOTE: The electric underground fencing is unacceptable for this breed.

More about this rescue

Please note: We are not a shelter. We are a group of volunteers. All of our dogs are fostered at someone's home OR at Old Farm Kennels. They are loved by their foster parents, some of them are socialized and their personalities and traits are well known by the foster family.
