My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CHESTNUT

Goldendoodle
Male
Grey and White
4 years old
35 pounds

Meet Chestnut, the delightful, affectionate, and well-mannered boy who's eager to win your heart!
Chestnut is a true people pleaser, always aiming to make you happy. While he may be cautious around men due to past experiences, with time and patience, he has the potential to overcome his fears and build trust. Chestnut is a social butterfly who gets along well with cats, horses, and sheep. While he may be selective with some dogs, he enjoys the company of female dogs of similar size, especially during playtime. His leash manners are impeccable, and he's quick to respond to your cues. Plus, he's a perfect travel companion, as he loves riding quietly in the car. With his outgoing personality and love for fun, Chestnut would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can showcase his tricks and playful antics. Give Chestnut the chance to shine, and he'll reward you with endless love, cuddles, and unforgettable moments.

Please Note:
*Must have a FENCED-IN yard!*
**No children under 12!**

More about this rescue

Somerset Cottage Poodle Rescue, established in 2013, is an all volunteer 501c(3) dog rescue funded by your donations. We rescue companion and senior dogs, at risk for euthanasia, from overcrowded shelters and provide them with the medical attention they need. We also redone dogs for owners who can no longer care for them. We do not have a facility so all of our dogs live in foster homes through out the Northern Virginia area until their adoption day. We are proud that we find them perfectly matched forever homes and families. We rescue and find permanent homes for approximately 250 dogs a year.
