Meet Xena - a petite pup with ears for days waiting for her shot at a forever home.
Things you should know about Xena:
Whether strolling through the shelter or exploring outside, this girl has got the whole walking on a leash thing down. She appears to have the potty business nailed too!
She is an energetic gal who loves to run & play. Recently with one of our volunteers she ran like the wind for a few miles & loved every second of it!
When it's time for play, she is all about that ball life - chasing her tennis ball like a champ.
Now, Xena's not all about the action. She's also a pro at chillin'. Give her some gentle pets while you're both curled up on the sofa & she'll soak in your love.
If you're looking for a laid-back buddy who's down for some fun but also knows when it's time to kick back, Xena's your girl.
Eligible for rescue & adoption. Meet playful Xena at @acctphilly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Behavior notes:
5/10/24 per volunteer Xena came right to the door to greet me. She was then a bit nervous and sat down on her bed. I opened her door and reached over to wash her on her bed with no problem. She wakes nicely through the shelter and outside. She enjoyed sniffing, seems very housetrained. Xena ran beautifully a mile and a half. She the enjoyed munching a tennis ball. Xena was easy to return to her kennel.

The adoption fee includes your new pet’s spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and an offer for 30 days of free pet health insurance.
Dogs: Microchip included with adoption fee
Cats: Microchip only $10 more!
Cats and kittens can always be adopted two for the price of one through our Adopt-A-Buddy program.

The Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia (ACCT Philly) is the region’s largest animal care and control service provider. ACCT Philly is an independent, 501c3 nonprofit organization, contracted by the City of Philadelphia to provide animal control services. Our animal control officers provide service over 142.6 square miles to the city’s more than 1.5 million residents and ACCT Philly’s facility in North Philadelphia handles more than 17,000 of the city’s animals, from dogs and cats, to small animals, reptiles, birds and wildlife, annually.
