My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This social butterfly cannot wait to meet you!

Meet Beso! Beso is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area. (See information below in the “Adoption Donation” section.)

Are you looking for a new family member who can balance play with downtime, who enjoys exercise and also loves a good cuddle on the couch? If so, then Beso might be your boy!

Friendly, affectionate, and confident, Beso is a playful social butterfly; he loves the company of people and other dogs and relishes opportunities to meet new friends or be the center of attention. Beso enjoys his daily walks (he has great leash manners), and a favorite adventure is strolling around Manito Park on a sunny Saturday and getting treats from the Fetch Barkery Food Truck. On a recent outing to Bark at the Park, he was the star of the show, getting pets from everyone in his section. Having been part of a large litter, Beso plays very well with other dogs and really loves kids. Beso is an easy going, chill pup who is equally happy playing fetch with you outside or gnawing on a toy while you work or cook. He’s energetic and goofily romps around before crashing hard for nap time. Beso is not picky about his sleep spot; the couch, a blanket that fell on the floor, in bed with his humans . . . any comfy place suits him. Beso has the cutest puppy snores and often sticks out his tongue when he sleeps.

Beso has quickly learned how to be an awesome pup. He does well in his crate for several hours at a time (if you are home, he would rather play quietly near you); Beso is potty trained and rings the bells on the door when he needs to go outside. He LOVES food more than anything, so training for him is a favorite pastime.  Beso knows sit, drop it, and come, and he is working on stay and off. Quiet and mellow, Beso only barks when he's alerted (another dog barks at him, someone knocks at the door) and stops quickly. He loves car rides, and he’s happy to sightsee on a drive or curl up for a nap.

Beso’s ideal home?  He would love an active family (combining treats and walks is his idea of perfection) willing to play with him and take him on explores. Lots of food (he is a puppy, after all) and treats would be wonderful, as well as soft places to nap and squeaky toys. And while kids and other dogs aren’t required, Beso would never turn them down!

Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue

  • At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. We are primarily a volunteer organization that focuses on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes.

  • Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.

  • Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs one year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines (when age appropriate) and heartworm and deworming. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.

  • We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment.

  • Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.

  • Adopters may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250.  Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.
