Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Avon!
If you looked at this picture and said "DANG! That is one cuuuuute dog!" (or some variations on the word ;) ) well then congrats, you are human and not some weirdo cyborg.
Avon is an approx 10 week old aussie doodle/golden doodle mix (aka mutt squared). She is sassy, spunky, fun, *adorable*, playful, with just enough cuddle and sweetness thrown in to let her get away with all the puppy mischief.
Given Avon's cross breeds there are a few things to note:
1. she should not be considered non shedding or hypo allergenic
2. that is a lot of energy. Sadly it cannot be bottled and used for yourself, so any potential adopters should be prepared for training, socializing and lots of exercise and mental stimulation
3. her mom is about 55 lbs and her dad is 70 lbs, so she will be big. Don't apply if you don't want a big dog.
Avon was born into care with one of our rescue partners who took her mom in at the very end of her pregnancy and she has spent some time in a temporary foster home with her siblings so she could learn important puppy lessons and her mom could whisper into her ear how not to be a brat. Time will tell how well those lessons took, and we expect her adopter to minimally enroll in group training and socialization puppy class(es) to help her continue to learn to be her best self.
Avon is already doing great with housebreaking and crate training, although obviously she is still young and will need more work in these areas.
For those prepared to put in the work we promise you will lots of love and laughter coming your way.
Avon's adoption fee includes her spay, age appropriate vaccinations and microchipping. She is also up to date on preventatives and basic vetting. She is ready to go to her new home on 5/18.
The online adoption application for Avon is available at https://www.dogtownrescue.org/online-adoption-application
An approved application and appointment are required to meet any of our dogs.
