My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cider recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what her DDO buddy had to say!

"Cider: Cider and I had a Dogs Day Out today! She is a 2 year old low key husky ... but still with loads of personality! She walks great on leash, not treat motivated but loves toys and will even fetch! Kind of. Because: husky.

We had a relaxing day for Cider. She came with me to help Marshall Hurley paint inside his new house. She really just chilled with us while we worked and even tried to help! (see photo). She didn't have any accidents. She did not try to dig or climb the fence. She mostly stayed near us even though she had freedom to go in and out into the yard. She took a liking to a squeaky toy and would run after it when I threw it. Sometimes she'd even bring it back!! She takes treats nicely but really she's just being polite. She'd rather chase a toy.

To finish off the day we went for a walk. She walks very well on leash. At one point a grasshopper flew past her and landed in the grass. Cider jumped straight up in the air and pounced with all four feet!! It was so cute! She's probably not a good match for cat owners though.

She doesn't like getting into the car but rides very well and waited patiently while I got gas. And...look at that face and those eyes!!! Isn't she gorgeous?

Cider is available at Guilford County Animal Services every day from 12-4 (except Tuesdays). Yes, even Sundays! Ask for Cider!"

As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines.

To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
