My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Knicks here, and I am a 2 year old handsome. boy who loves nothing more than to play! Laser pointers, wand toys, catnip mouses- you name it! I am also quite the social butterfly and enjoy being the center of attention to my humans. I enjoy cheek scratches and a good lap, but no belly rubs for me! I would love a home where I can interact and play with people! My friends here tell me I am FeLv+, but I am happy, healthy, and ready to take on my next adventure! Questions- ten Lives can answer them, and there's a link below to learn more! The most important thing you should know? I am going to make a great companion to a very special person!

I am also eligible for the foster-to-adopt program! If you think we could be a match, please fill out an application today!

FELV is a virus that affects cats. It can not be passed onto humans or dogs. To learn more about FELV, please visit the link below.

Ten Lives’ Foster-to-Adopt program allows potential adopters to interact and bond with a cat in a home setting before making a lifelong commitment. This program is a great way to see a cat’s true personality and watch how they integrate into your household. Please note, that only cats listed as foster-to-adopt are eligible for this program.

How does it work?

Foster-to-adopt applications are reviewed based on our goal of placing cats in their best-matched homes to facilitate lifelong adoptions. Once approved, you will bring home your new friend and have 30 days to determine whether they are a perfect fit for you and your family. During the foster-to-adopt period, you will be responsible for providing food, litter, and monthly flea prevention. Ten Lives will provide any outstanding veterinary care at a partner veterinarian.

Please note: Ten Lives will not cover care provided by a non-partner veterinarian. Please consider this when submitting a foster-to-adopt application.

At the end of the 30 days, you can make the adoption official by signing an adoption agreement and paying the adoption fee or you can return the cat to the care of Ten Lives. Please complete an adoption application if you are interested in fostering to adopt from Ten Lives!

Please complete an adoption application if you are interested in adopting from Ten Lives! Apply here:  https://tenlivescatrescue.org/adoptionapp/

Please Note:

If the cat or kitten is no longer listed in the drop-down menu of the application then they are no longer available for adoption and we are not accepting applications. Due to limited volunteer power, applications submitted for cats or kittens no longer available will not be reviewed.

About Ten Lives:

Ten Lives Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization located in Rhode Island. Our foster-based program is 100% volunteer-powered. We do not have a facility or shelter with regular visiting hours. Out of respect for the time, privacy, and safety of our foster families, we require an approved adoption application before scheduling a meet and greet with a foster cat.

Our goal is to place cats in their best-matched homes and facilitate lifelong adoptions. We do not review applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. We believe that veterinary care is an important part of cat guardianship. As such, a veterinary check is part of our adoption process. Our goal is to contact applicants within 96 business hours of receiving their application. During kitten season, wait times may be longer due to the influx of applications. We are all volunteers and kindly ask for your patience!

All Ten Lives cats are spayed or neutered, receive age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLv and parasites, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. These services are inclusive of the adoption fee.
