My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Bandy, the embodiment of resilience and charm! Bandy found his way to the rescue, his two legs having a slight  curvature, yet his spirit radiating with pure magnificence. From the moment you meet Bandy, his gentle nature and sweet spirit captivate your heart, leaving an indelible mark of love.

But there's more to Bandy than meets the eye. Beneath his fur lies a physique that resembles that of a canine bodybuilder, but fear not, there are no spoonfuls of steroids involved. Bandy has a rare condition called Myostatin Deficiency, which gives him a broad chests and overdeveloped muscles, giving him a unique appearance that's bound to turn heads wherever he goes.

Despite his condition, Bandy is far from limited. He can walk, play, and bask in the joy of companionship with a zest for life that knows no bounds. While he may not be your next jogging partner, Bandy compensates with his unwavering sweetness and a demeanor so chill, it's contagious.

This lovable boy is a true ambassador of love, adoring everyone he meets and extending his affections to all dogs fortunate enough to cross his path. Whether he's curled up with his people, happily chewing on a bone in his crate, or spreading joy with his friendly demeanor, Bandy embodies the qualities of an ideal companion.

For those seeking a dog that's crate trained, house trained, adores people and dogs alike, and who has unwavering loyalty, Bandy is the perfect match. Don't let something beyond his control deter you from experiencing the love and companionship of this exceptional boy. Open your heart to Bandy, and let his gentle soul bring you boundless love and joy.

More about this rescue

PIPs key focus is dogs with special or medical needs (who we call Pip-abled), however, we have many non-PIP-abled dogs too! We made it easy to decipher PIP-abled verses non-PIP-able; simply look at each dogs picture and bio.

The Pioneers had a vision to take in the most urgent rescues no one else could which includes puppies, adult dogs, senior dogs, dogs with special needs and medical cases in and around North Carolina. Our main purpose is to rescue as many dogs in need as we can with a special focus on special needs.
