Meet Mr Bruce. This young man didn't have a home so he went into Lowes to buy some lumber to build a house. Once inside he realized he didn't have truck to haul his lumber, or money to buy it for that matter, so he found a dog loving sucker to follow around and convinced her to help him with his home situation. At 10 months old this young man knows the way to a woman's heart! He is leash trained and prefers to hold it himself or play tug with you while walking. He uses the doggy door in the kennel and sits for his meals and treats. He is neutered, up to date on shots and is looking for a warm house and loving family. He has gotten along with the rescue dogs he has met but is a bit too rambunctious for the senior pack so probably no small children. All dogs in KRR will be fully vetted and microchipped prior to adoption. Because of KRR's mission, all dogs must come back to this rescue so they never have to worry about being dumped along the road again.
Katie's Roadside Rescue is a no kill 501c3 non-profit organization with the mission of rescuing dogs left to fend for themselves. If they cannot be caught, at a minimum food and water is left for them. KRR currently does not accept owner surrenders nor do we pull from kill shelters. There seems to be plenty on the side of the road at this time.
Donations and volunteers are the heart and core of KRR and we could not function without the generous help from others. Please click on the PayPal link on the left to make donations toward our dogs' medical and housing needs. All support is greatly appreciated and needed. Financial information is posted on this site so you know where your donations are being used. We are willing at any time to provide you with information and to show that all funds are used for the animals in rescue.
