My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lightning is a super cute dude who was born around 5/2/2017. Prior to his rescue, he had been abandoned in a trailer park and was in survival mode. He was wounded and incredibly scared. Thankfully, despite his wounds, he tested negative for FELV/FIV. Lightning has healed from both his physical and emotional wounds. He loves to talk, eat, hang out with his kitty friends, and get pets from his human friends. Lightning is a gentle guy and get's along with cats of all temperaments. A friend for this guy is an absolute must. He would do best in a home where he won't have to travel, have a kitty friend or two for him to bond with, and is a relaxed environment. If you're looking to adopt two kitties, he has other friends in his foster home that are also available.

His adoption fee is $125.00. Adopt a pair for $200.00

Our adoptions start with an application and approval process. Most of our adult dogs have an adoption fee of $250, regardless of how much medical attention they have received (some of them cost us substantially more than that, all of our rescues are thoroughly vetted and treated for any illness before being adopted out). You must be 21 adopt from us.

We prefer a fenced in yard but it's not required. All people in the household must be present for adoption and we request that you at least spend 45 minutes with the pet of your choice before making the commitment to take them home

EVERY adoption includes spay or neuter. Check around; not everyone includes the price of surgery, even if it's required. Our donation for dogs also includes: first shots, heartworm test if over 6 months, and rabies shot (at time of surgery if too young). Most are also microchipped. Cats come with surgery cost included, first shots, FIV test, and nail trim. We do NOT allow our cats to be declawed!

We are a foster style rescue. Our pets live with us, so we know more about them than the average shelter. We have a variety of homes that include other dogs, cats, kids, etc.

Spaying and neutering is the absolute best way to curb pet overpopulation. We believe in low cost spay and neuter and can provide info on low cost surgeries.

We also believe pet nutrition and vaccine awareness can keep your best friend healthy for life. Our fosters are fed high quality food. We encourage people to explore the nutritional value of pet food and make the best decision for their pets.
