My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Ellie Mae. I’m 5 years and a few months old. I have had a rough start at life having many babies before my foster parents opened their home up to me. I wouldn’t let them touch me for the first 24 hours. My foster parents laid on the floor with me for hours to gain my trust. I love my foster parents and my fur siblings. I just recently found out that playing with them is a lot of fun. They have toys that they share with me. I’m still not sure about going potty outside but my foster parents have a playpen that is lined with puppy pads and I use them a lot. My foster mom spoiled me and put wet food in with my dry food and now that’s all I eat. I’m still skiddish with any type of noise or loudness. I’m scared of kids even tho my foster grandkids love me and tried to be my friend I wasn’t sure. I have come along way from when I first came here, however, I still have much to learn. I am crate trained. I will be spayed soon. I am a very smart girl. When my foster dad tells me to go to the couch so he can fix my dinner, I do what he says and wait there until he tells me it’s time to eat. He calls me pretty girl and it makes my booty wiggle. My foster daddy is my favorite human. He has patience with me. I am learning to walk on a leash. I’m scared of it but I am getting better. I do pull and want back into my house as soon as possible. The grass feels weird on my feet and it makes me nervous. My new parents must have patience. I hope my new home is quiet and has a fur sibling for me to love.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption fee is generally based on the dog's age and provides for neutering or spaying, all required shots, heartworm testing (we endorse "the new moxie-doxy" treatment for heart worms).

It is our expectation & a requirement that heartworm preventative be continued as well as any required vet visits after the pet is adopted.

If for some reason a match isn't made the first time around and you are approved, we will keep your application on file for the next opportunity to arise. Our primary goal is to place a dog in the most suitable environment, based on the animal's individual needs and its temperament. The commitment is lifelong and the Boston's interests are always foremost.

More about this rescue

All breeds have their own particular needs and rescued pets often have special requirements as well, very often in want of medical care, often lacking nourishment and kindness, and often expensive to rehabilitate.

Because we have had Boston Terriers for many years, we are very familiar with their habits, peculiarities and their special needs.

We operate across the southeast under the auspices of the Boston Terrier Rescue Network. We share information and resources in all of the USA with affiliated Boston Rescues.
