My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mei! This sweet lap-lover is ready to be your best friend. She’s had a short but busy life: found during Hurricane Ida in September of 2021 and brought to Albany, Georgia Humane Society, she got a freedom ride to a local shelter in Lansdale, PA, and was adopted in October 2021. When she was spayed in February of 2022, the vet found a healed-over BB pellet embedded in her side from her previous life in the South, and removed it. Then her adopter passed away in 2023 and the family adopted a new, poorly-behaved kitten, whom she escaped by running away to the outdoors, where she spent the winter of 2023-24 begging and fending on her own. A call to our rescue started a new chapter for this young lady, bringing her back inside, getting medical care and fattening her back up. Now she’s ready to move on to living her best life in her new forever home. She’s a mystery-blend of cat parts; her tiny 7lb body is Manx-shaped with a natural bobtail, but her lynxpoint coat, blue eyes, raspy meow and smart, Velcro personality are all Siamese-type. Estimated to be around 3 years old, this little girl is not telling her secrets. She does have a lot to say, and wants to cuddle on your lap and purr all day. She plays with toys, loves chin scratches and is not willing to share with another cat. She doesn’t like her bunny-tail or belly played with, and if you do, she gives very gentle nip reminders; so a home with older children or adults is preferred. Her tolerance for dogs is unknown, but likely she would prefer not, jealous girl that she is. Due to her history she could be an escape risk and a home where she can be prevented from getting outside again is best. She deserves only the best pampered indoor life from now on.

Additional adoption info

During review of the application if you rent your home, we confirm with your landlord that you are allowed to have the cat per your lease.

We also consider if a particular cat is a good fit for your home. Certain cats will do better in homes without small children, or without other cats. Other cats may need to be adopted with a cat that they are bonded with. So we make sure that the cat and the home are a good match before completing an adoption.

Some of our fosters allow trial adoptions, where you would have 2-3 weeks to make sure that the cat being adopted was accepted by the other pets in your home. If you are interested in this, please ask your Adoption Representative.

All cats adopted from Stray Cat Blues have been screened for feline leukemia and FIV, inoculated, sterilized and wormed when they first come to us. Additional vet work is completed for those cats that require additional care. Healthy, adoptable cats and kittens are then housed through our network of foster homes until they are adopted.

You are also welcome to come visit cats at our PetSmart Collegeville and PetSmart North Wales/Montgomeryville locations (see times for adoption showings). If you see a cat there that you like, you can complete an adoption application there in person.

Questions - email us at: contact@straycatblues.org. We are happy to answer general questions, and also put you in touch with the foster families for questions about specific cats.

Adoption Fees:
• $130 - Kittens up to one year of age
• $100 - For cats over one year and up to 7 years of age
• $70 - For cats 7 years of age and over.
All fees are subject to Pennsylvania's 6% sales tax and a minimum of $5 or 5% service fee.
Fees for cats with special needs will be determined based upon circumstances and may result in a fee reduction.
