OSCAR is a 7 year old male boxer/hound mix. He currently weighs 52 lbs. Like so many others this year, he was found wandering alone. A kind person took him in to keep him safe. They fostered him for 6 weeks before handing him off to Adopt Me! This gave us valuable information on Oscar. He co-existed nicely with two other dogs and their child. He was left free in the house and never destroyed anything. He came housetrained. All this adds up to - he was someone's pet before being dumped.
In order to find out every little quirk, we enrolled OSCAR in our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program. Like the other dogs in the program, he thoroughly enjoys the one on one attention he gets from his inmate. He is learning his obedience quickly and is very food motivated. As for his social skills, he's doing well there too. For his age, he still has plenty of pep although napping for most of the day is okay with him too.
He has a beautiful brindle coat and a bit of graying around his muzzle. Just enough to make him look distinguished. He is not fond of cats.
If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Oscar's picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Additional adoption FAQ's can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants based on our "best family fit" approach.
Thank you
