My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Every super spy needs a sidekick, and James Bond has me! We aren't related, but the moment we laid eyes on each other, we knew we were destined for a lifetime of adventures together. I'm the gentle, steady little guy to his playful, dramatic nature (seriously, you should see him trying to eat my wet food--rolling around, poking me, chirping, while I calmly eat like the civilized little man I am). He may be half my age and twice my size, but we are soulmates. He's like my own giant pillow; I get to cuddle up next to his pudgy belly whlile he curls around me like a fuzzy comma.

While I may be the sidekick to James Bond, I've lived through a whole lot myself. I used to struggle to get enough to eat at the cat colony I came from, and then our elderly feeder died and we had nothing. When Stray Cat Blues stepped in, half of my colony was so sick that they did not survive. I'm one of the lucky ones. But I do have a couple battle scars: I am FIV positive, but cats with FIV can live long, comfortable lives, even with other cats--which I do with James, who is FIV negative. I also have an autoimmune condition which means my bottom lip gets pouty (foster mama says it makes me look even more handsome), but an inexpensive steroid helps with that and I am SO GOOD with taking pills. It's true; I impress everyone. I gulp it down and then look for gentle head kisses.

We have to be adopted together because we are a team, you know? I can't wait for you to meet us!

Additional adoption info

During review of the application if you rent your home, we confirm with your landlord that you are allowed to have the cat per your lease.

We also consider if a particular cat is a good fit for your home. Certain cats will do better in homes without small children, or without other cats. Other cats may need to be adopted with a cat that they are bonded with. So we make sure that the cat and the home are a good match before completing an adoption.

Some of our fosters allow trial adoptions, where you would have 2-3 weeks to make sure that the cat being adopted was accepted by the other pets in your home. If you are interested in this, please ask your Adoption Representative.

All cats adopted from Stray Cat Blues have been screened for feline leukemia and FIV, inoculated, sterilized and wormed when they first come to us. Additional vet work is completed for those cats that require additional care. Healthy, adoptable cats and kittens are then housed through our network of foster homes until they are adopted.

You are also welcome to come visit cats at our PetSmart Collegeville and PetSmart North Wales/Montgomeryville locations (see times for adoption showings). If you see a cat there that you like, you can complete an adoption application there in person.

Questions - email us at: contact@straycatblues.org. We are happy to answer general questions, and also put you in touch with the foster families for questions about specific cats.

Adoption Fees:
• $130 - Kittens up to one year of age
• $100 - For cats over one year and up to 7 years of age
• $70 - For cats 7 years of age and over.
All fees are subject to Pennsylvania's 6% sales tax and a minimum of $5 or 5% service fee.
Fees for cats with special needs will be determined based upon circumstances and may result in a fee reduction.
