My story

I adopted Reggie in 2021 from a shelter. At the time of adoption they let me know he had been abused but I was not given many details. For the first few months he definitely experienced a lot of anxiety. He would show teeth when he got scared but it was always a fear reaction. He has improved tremendously. He will still be protective of his kennel at night and especially gets protective if he curls up on a blanket. I believe the abuse he experienced came from a woman because his fear reactions were always worse one on one with women than men. Keeping him as active as I am able has made a big difference in these behaviors.

He will take time to warm up to anyone but once he is used to you he will show love by shoving his head into you when you try and sit on the couch and squeaking his toys when your show starts to whisper! He loves to go on walks and be outside, a house with a fenced in yard for him to be in would be a great fit!

Reggie is good with cats but I am unsure about kids.
