My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sonu came to us as a stray so we don't know much about his background, but we know he's ready for a home of his own. He is an affectionate and curious guy who also enjoys being brushed. Sonu is not shy about getting your attention! He's friendly, affectionate, and very sweet. Anyone would be glad to have this young handsome kitty! DOB 5/01/23
Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. You may submit an application online for pre-approval and to set an appointment or you can visit the shelter Wednesday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm. Please note that the kennels close for pet viewing at 4:30pm.

More about this shelter

The mission of the Humane Society of Pulaski County is to rescue, care for and find homes for abandoned, abused, homeless and unwanted animals; to reduce suffering of animals; and to reduce the number of homeless animals through adoption, spay/neuter, and through education.

The Humane Society of Pulaski County provides access to low-cost, healthy, inoculated, sterilized animals to people seeking to adopt animals as pets only. Adopters are screened to see if they can provide the basics of care for the animals, proper housing, and continued veterinary maintenance; and have no history of animal abuse or irresponsible ownership.

The Humane Society is a private no-kill shelter, supported solely by donations, fund-raisers, bequests and grants. We receive no city, county or state funding, nor are we affiliated with any other organization. We have been rescuing animals since 1946, and have been in our present building since 2000.
