CAPE MAY COUNTY, NJ: With all his gorgeous fluff and big personality, dazzling CHOWDER easily steals the show!
Chowder is a 4 year old Spitz/Chow mix and weighs 40 lbs – although all that fur makes him larger than life! Poor lonely Chowder was found as a stray in NYC, very underweight at only 33 lbs. He has some paw sensitivity, which landed him on the euthanasia list right after the holidays in 2023. Luckily, a foster stepped up to save Chowder, and since then he has been making slow & steady progress. Chowder is house-trained, friendly with other dogs, and incredibly smart, quickly learning some cues! Chowder has also learned to trust his foster paw-rents and gets along with his other fur siblings. Since he can be a Spitzy spit-fire, we are looking for an adopter with breed specific experience. His adorable bear-face and spunky personality are worth it! Once he trusts you, Chowder is very social and will seek affection – and treats, too, of course! Chowder is a dream to walk, being very good on leash. He is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped and ready for his forever home!
If you can open your heart and home to dear Chowder and have experience with his breed, please contact AmsterDog by call/text at 917-689-8414 or by e-mail at info@amsterdog.org. Apply to adopt Chowder at AmsterDog.org.

AmsterDog Rescue does not have its own facility. Instead, we rely on fosters to care for our beloved animals. Our available animals may change depending on your location and we do transport animals for adoptions within a reasonable distance. Since you will possibly be speaking with and meeting a foster directly, an application must be filled out prior to meet and greets.
