My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SWEET MOMMA

Meet Susie, a little tabby kitten found wandering around Gate 4 area of Laguna Woods Village. Little and hungry, she picked a home to frequent and the kind resident began feeding her. She was clearly not feral but was scared. She picked the right resident to hang around!

The Cat Club was able to trap her and place her with a temporary foster to keep her safe. When brought for her first vet check, we learned that she'd had kittens recently. And then a resident in the area reported finding kittens crying outside behind a utility unit. Could they be Susie's kittens? Cat Club volunteers brought the kittens to Susie and she immediately went to them and started nursing them!

Susie is about 9 months old. She's been vet-checked. She's being a wonderful momma to the kittens, who will be available for adoption through Smitten with the Kittens (info@smittenwiththekittens.org) when they are old enough.

If you would like to meet Susie, contact Lonnie Painter at 949-533-7947. You won't regret it!

Go meet their pets

We have a holiday boutiques to raise funds for our pets. We also have posters with our kitties displayed around our community and we have both our www.lagunawoodscatclub.com site as well as our adoptapet and petfinder sites with photos, descriptions and contact info.

More about this rescue

Our organization was started because our local animal shelter does not have space for abandoned and/or lost pets. Laguna Woods is a retirement community and our residents often end up going to assisted living or passing away, and kitties are left homeless. There was a real need for someone to step up and fill this need, so we established a network of foster homes and a website and a petfinder site to advertise our kitties needing homes. We provide an initial vet exam immediately and pay for services including medical care, shots, spay and neuter, etc.
