Additional adoption info

Anyone interested in adopting or fostering a cat should call 305-498-2003 for more information. We ask for an adoption donation of at least $50. We have a two page information form and do a preliminary home visit. Our adopters must promise to keep the kitty as an indoor only pet and must agree to return the kitty to our organization if they can no longer care for it.

About Laguna Woods Cat Club Foster/Adoption Program

Our organization was started because our local animal shelter does not have space for abandoned and/or lost pets. Laguna Woods is a retirement community and our residents often end up going to assisted living or passing away, and kitties are left homeless. There was a real need for someone to step up and fill this need, so we established a network of foster homes and a website and a petfinder site to advertise our kitties needing homes. We provide an initial vet exam immediately and pay for services including medical care, shots, spay and neuter, etc.

Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs
