Rescue FAQs

Laguna Woods Village is a retirement community, and our residents often end up going to assisted living or passing away -- and their kitties are left homeless. Seeing a real need for someone to step up and address this problem, we established the Laguna Woods Cat Club in 1971. We take in residents' cats when necessary, house them temporarily in our network of foster homes, and find them new and loving homes. In most cases, our cats come to us having lost their homes and their favorite humans. But cats are resilient, and our wonderful fosters work patiently with the cats to help them heal so they are ready to love again.
We generally serve South Orange County, an area extending from Irvine to San Clemente. Most of our adopters come from Irvine, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente.

Anyone interested in adopting or fostering a cat should see https://lagunawoodscatclub.com for information. We ask for an adoption donation of at least $75. Our adopters MUST promise to keep the kitty as an indoor only pet and must agree to return the kitty to our organization if they can no longer care for it.
