Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chelsea von Clenze is a magical looking 10 week old German Shepherd mix. Everyone agrees that she looks like a German Shepherd puppy mixed with Koala bear. She is such a gentle soul. She loves dogs, she is good with kids and gets attached to her people more and more. Her furry foster siblings won’t play with her, even though she rolls on her back to show them submission. We'll make sure that she has another playful dog in her forever home to romp around with. Chelsea is happy to sit in your lap and watch a movie with you. Although she might hide at times, she always wants to make sure she can see you. As her foster mom is writing this bio, Chelsea is fast asleep by her feet under the desk. Puppy naps are always appreciated for a little quiet time in the house. Because she was dumped in an alley to fend for herself, she is just discovering that there are many caring and loving humans out there. Although she will carry around a tennis ball for a few minutes, she is not quite interested in toys yet. She is one of those rare puppies who are not mouthy at all, and so far, hasn't chewed on anything, not even your hands. She is the most innocent, sweet baby. She can't wait to have a home to call her own with another playful dog to keep her busy.
Chelsea von Clenze is in a foster home, offsite, and is NOT at our rescue location in Los Angeles.

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
