My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet this tail wagging 18-week-old beautiful sable collie. Parker is a joy to have around! He is happy to greet both dogs and people and loves to get attention. His foster family says he is a good boy. At first he tried to chew some furniture – like most pups his age – but he immediately stopped when he was told not to. He is extremely smart and eager to learn new things. Using treats as a motivation, his foster family has been working on his commands, and he knows how to sit and come when called. He was curious about the family cat but quickly moved on to the company of the family dogs. They love being outdoors and playing together.

Parker is showing no anxiety in his foster home. He is curious when he hears something outside and will explore by looking out the window. What a great watchdog!! He follows his foster family around and quietly watches the activities in the home. He loves to lie on the floor near his family but is mischievous at times and will bark or bring a toy when he wants some attention. He might even steal your socks! This boy just wants to be part of the action and be loved in his forever home.

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs please go directly to www.almosthomeohio.org for an application. Once the application is submitted, our adoption team can discuss the information on the application with you to determine if one of our dogs would be a good fit for your home. Lastly, a home visit will be done either by one of our volunteers or another reputable rescue volunteer in your area. We do adopt out of state, but it is up to the adopter to come meet and take the dog home. Sound like a lot to go through for a dog? It really isn't as complicated as it seems and it's the best way to ensure a good match. Please contact adoptions@almosthomeohio.org with any additional questions you may have after reviewing the information on our website.

More about this rescue

Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio is made up of a small (but growing) group of enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of homeless dogs. Our background is with purebred collies and collie mixes but on occasion, we have other "family friendly" breeds. If you are searching for a collie, we'd like to help you find a wonderful companion that fits your family's lifestyle. All of our dogs are fully vaccinated and are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. They have also been tested and are negative for heartworm and are on heartworm preventative.
