Say hello to Leo! He is one of the newest (and maybe most charming ) additions to our rescue family! This beautiful boy is an 11 week old (born 3/10/24) husky/heeler mix who came to us with his six siblings after they were found abandoned down in Texas. Despite his hard beginnings, Leo is as sweet as EVER…and is ready to charm his way right into your heart with his lovable personality + irresistibly adorable ears! Leo currently weighs-in at 16lbs, so our best estimate is that he’ll be somewhere in the 65-75lbs when fully grown. We will post a photo of his gorgeous mama [Sky] in the comments below.

Leo (male) is quite the little smarty-pants! He is already mastering the art of sitting on command, coming when called, and waiting patiently when asked. Plus, he's a fantastic listener! Whether you're sharing with him about your day, or telling him all about how cute he is (which you'll be doing a LOT! ), Leo is alllllll ears…literally! This little guy is all about being close to his humans. He wants nothing more than to be your BFF. He’s a cuddle connoisseur who will happily snuggle-up with you any chance he gets! And when it comes to playtime, Leo is a social butterfly! After allowing him just a little bit of time to adjust to his surroundings/warm up, he gets along great with other dogs! He loves a good romp around the yard with his doggo-friends. And as if he wasn't impressive enough, Leo is also doing great with his potty training! When provided with a consistent routine, this smart little dude is learning the ropes quickly. He aims to please his people! So if you're looking for a sweet furry friend with a big personality and LOTS of love to give…Leo is your guy!

Additional adoption info

If interested in one of our great dogs, please email us for an application. Once the application is returned and processed, we set up private meet and greets with approved adopters. Our adoption fee is generally $200.

New Leash on Life Dog Rescue is a foster based dog rescue that takes in dogs from local owner surrenders as well as rescues dogs from high kill shelters in other states. We also work with local shelters when they have a dog who is just not doing well in a shelter environment. We are an all breed rescue and we have dogs of all shapes and sizes. We rescue dogs who are need medical attention as well as those who are healthy and just looking for a great family.
