My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

“Cheers, big ears!” This cutie is Nova, and she joined us from Texas with her siblings when they were found abandoned with their mama [Sky]. Nova (female) was born on 3/10/24, so is now just over 11 weeks old. She weighs-in @ 14.5lbs currently, so we’d estimate she’ll likely weigh in the 65-75lbs range when fully grown. She is a husky/heeler mix (we’ll post her mama’s photo in the comments), and — as you can see — has ears for dayssss!

Nova is a little ball of energy! She loves leaping and pouncing around the yard, with toys, and with other dogs. We think she’d absolutely love another playful pooch in her forever home. She is eager to initiate play, but is submissive if the dog she approaches says “no” (as one of her foster family’s resident dogs does!). Nova is definitely catching on to the fact that she gets rewarded with treats when she goes potty outside, but is still learning how to alert her people when it’s time to go out. But if her humans let her out frequently + consistently, she has been handling her potty-training like a champ! Nova has been doing wonderfully in her kennel at nighttime. She’ll hop right in her crate for treat, and settles down right away at bedtime! The only noise she makes is some small whimpers when she needs to potty in the morning. As for being kenneled during the daytime when her people are gone…Nova is still adjusting! She’s getting used to longer periods being alone, but isn’t a huge fan of being left without her people. During those times she has demonstrated her husky howl, so life in an apartment for this girl probably wouldn’t be best! Nova loves belly rubs and getting all sorts of lovin’ from friends. She will lean right into you if you’re holding/petting her…almost like she’s giving you a hug back! She’s a smart girl, and with an active home/family she’ll make the most amazing buddy & companion. If you think she sounds like the one for you, please apply + reach out via private message. Just ask for Nova!
