Hold onto your hearts when you meet sweet little Juniper! Juniper is a mixed breed pup with the most gorgeous eyes. Take a close look and you will see that she has one crystal blue eye and one chocolate brown eye. She also has the best perky ears! Juniper is a petite girl--we don't know her exact breed mix but we believe she will remain on the petite side without being tiny (maybe around 30ish pounds). She is being fostered in a home with four other dogs and three older children. She gets along well with the other dogs and having another dog in the home might help this tiny timid girl gain some confidence. Juniper prefers dogs that are larger than her, she is not a fan of smaller dogs that bark a lot. She is scared and shy with new people and new surroundings and takes time to warm up. For this reason, Juniper would do best in a home with adults only, as children won't likely be as patient as she needs. She does enjoy playing outside and is very curious and playful when she is comfortable.
An ideal family for Juniper would be experienced and familiar with puppy training and with helping a shy girl gain confidence while setting appropriate boundaries to set her up for success. She is doing well with basic training and is very food-motivated, which will help with continued training. Juniper is very loyal to her people and (as with a lot of small terrier-type breeds) seems to choose her favorite person in the pack to bond with. She will be the most amazing pet for her perfect person and stay right by their side to give cuddles, love, and companionship. Juniper does not do well in a crate, it makes her anxious. She would be very happy to have someone who is home with her the majority of the time.
