My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kora: A Strong, Independent Diva Ready to Shine & Join You on Your Next Adventure!
Kora is a confident and independent six-year-old Pittie mix with stunning brindle coloring and elegant white patches. She embodies the spirit of a strong woman by nature—self-assured, thoughtful, and loyal to those she trusts.

Kora attended a board and train program, where she excelled in mastering all her commands with impressive focus and determination. Thanks to this training, she now walks beautifully on a leash, showing calm and control. Her leash manners have come a long way, reflecting her intelligence and willingness to learn.

This girl absolutely adores tennis balls — playing fetch lights up her whole face with a joyful, contagious smile. Her athleticism and enthusiasm make her a perfect candidate for agility training, where she can channel her energy and sharp mind into fun, challenging activities. She might even be a good running partner, when it’s not too hot of course!!! After playtime, she also enjoys peaceful walks around the yard, often checking in to make sure her person is nearby.

Kora is a good judge of character and chooses her friends wisely. She prefers one-on-one interactions over crowds or busy environments. However, once she knows she can trust you, she blossoms into a deeply loving and loyal companion who will stand by your side through thick and thin, even appreciating a nice scratch behind the ears!

Kora prefers to be the only pet in the home, valuing her space and independence.
If you’re looking for a devoted, intelligent, and strong-willed partner who will reward your patience and love with unwavering loyalty, Kora is waiting for you. To learn more or apply to welcome this remarkable girl into your life, please visit satchelslastresort.org.

More about this rescue

Satchel's Last Resort is a no-kill animal shelter/sanctuary whose mission is to Rescue, Rehab and Rehome dogs and cats with nowhere else to go because of breed, behavior or medical issues.

Each resident that comes to Satchel’s has its own unique and personal history. We get to know each one individually – favorite toy, favorite game, favorite foods. The dogs are housed in an airy shelter with spacious kennels, take three or four romps in the playard or walks per day, and even take car rides to let their fur flap in the wind. Cats are housed in two open cat room settings and receive social interaction with staff and volunteers every day. Most important to us -- we keep our dogs and cats safe from other residents and from humans who may want to harm them.

Trainers work with the dogs a few times a week to teach them that they can trust humans and other animals. Staff and volunteers work with our cats to keep them socialized or help them learn to trust again. We actively seek forever homes tailored to the needs of every individual pet so that they can live the rest of their lives among a family of their own.

At Satchel’s Last Resort, we believe that by harnessing the unconditional love that the dogs and cats in our sanctuary put forth everyday, the world becomes a brighter place for animals and people. Each and everyday we try to give a little of their love back – back to the pets and back to our community.
