My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Josie is being considered for admission to Best Friends Dog Town. However, if you would consider adopting her as a special needs dog who is almost like a normal dog when on Xanax, she is available for adoption. You can go to the home page of this website and complete a pre adopt ap by copy and pasting it into an email to me. Our rescue will be on hiatus from 6/16 - 7/5. Dogs will be available to be seen if applications are completed at our next pet adopton venue in San Pedro 7/9 or by separate meet/greet appointments.

Josie is a project and due to her puppymill breeding background needs a rat terrier savvy adopter who can face a challenge with patience and determiantion in continuing Josie's rehab. She spins a lot which is a chronic habit she picked up when confined in a puppymill cage. Here is a YouTube video showing this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwBovRx3mxs
Josie, a beautiful, purebred Rat terrier girl, is up to date on all vaccines, micro-chipped and spayed. She is a little girl at 12 1/2 pounds, and full grown at the age of 2 1/2 years. Josie's life began in a particularly offensive puppymill in Yucca valley, Ca where she, like others were bred for the sole purpose of producing puppies for sale. She had no human love or affection until her wonderful foster mom rescued her. Josie is coming out of her fearful, reclusive personality and gaining confidence- she has come a long way but still needs an experienced, patient adults-only permanent home capable of continuing to encourage her progress with calm and loving kindness. Josie is comfortable with other dogs and loves to be held and will sit in your lap on the couch watching T.V. She can tolerate a crate if necessary and will spin to comfort herself. Although Josie is not leash trained yet, she can wear a harness to be taken outside to potty. Josie needs a completely secure, dog-proof yard. If you have the experience and would like to be the person who gives this little girl the life she has always deserved, contact Arlene Rooney at: phone # 310-326-2022 or email address- corgially@yahoo.com We are looking for an experienced rat terrier or fox terrier adult dog savvy owner who is reliable, has patience and wants to take on a special needs dog with untold rewards to follow as she evolves.
Adoption process: completion of a pre adoption application, homecheck, trial period, contract and adoption donation of $250.

You can copy and paste the pre adopt ap below into an email, complete and send to our rescue.
