My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Daisy Mae!

Breed: German Shepherd x Collie Mix
Gender: Female
Age: Adult (DOB: 11/27/21)
Size: Large (75 lbs)
Good with: Other dogs, active families, people who appreciate a good watchdog

Daisy Mae is the perfect balance of playful energy and calm companionship! This beautiful German Shepherd x Collie mix knows how to read the room—inside the house, she's calm and composed, but outside? She's ready to romp, play, and live her best life. At 75 pounds of athleticism and enthusiasm, Daisy Mae has the smarts and drive you'd expect from her herding breed heritage.

She's a natural watchdog who will alert bark when strangers approach, making her an excellent guardian for your home. But don't worry—she's not aggressive, just aware and protective. Once she knows you're safe, she's all about the good times: belly rubs, romping around in the yard, and enthusiastically destroying toys in the best possible way.

Daisy Mae LOVES to swim! If you've got access to water, she'll be in heaven. She's happy to play with toys on her own and keep herself entertained, but let's be real—it's way more fun with friends. She gets along great with other dogs and would absolutely thrive with a playmate who can match her energy and love of adventure.

This girl needs an active home with a yard where she can run, play, and burn off that herding breed energy. She's smart, loyal, and ready to be your adventure buddy, cuddle companion, and backyard queen. If you're looking for a large, athletic dog who's equal parts protector and goofball, Daisy Mae is your girl!

Disclaimer: The information in this profile reflects observations made while this dog has been in our shelter environment. We strive to describe each dog as accurately as possible; however, behavior and needs may change once the dog is in a new home, routine, or environment. Our dogs are not freeroaming in homes. When we note that a dog is "potty trained," this refers to reliable crate training, not confirmed freeroam house training. Accidents may occur during the transition to a new home, and additional training should be expected. All dogs are examined by our veterinarian, are spayed or neutered if old enough, and are up to date on ageappropriate vaccinations at the time of adoption. We share all known medical information, but we cannot guarantee future health or rule out underlying conditions.

ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.happyfacespetranch.org

Once your application has been approved, a representative will be in touch to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog based on the dog's individual needs.
