My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Birthdate: 1/13/21

Breed: One of a kind

Weight: 95 lbs

Don’t let Rex’s tough-guy appearance fool you—beneath his strong, protective exterior is a big-hearted softie who lives for love and loyalty. With his big boy size, Rex might look imposing, but in his mind, he’s a pint-sized lapdog who just wants to snuggle up close to his favorite people.

Rex is fiercely devoted to those he loves and takes his role as protector seriously—you’ll always feel safe with him by your side. He's not shy about showing his affection and will proudly make sure everyone knows who his people are.

Though selective with new faces and not particularly fond of other dogs, Rex shines in a calm, confident home where he can bond deeply with his humans. He walks well on leash and enjoys playful games of tug, followed by long, cozy sessions curled up on the couch.

If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big bark, an even bigger heart, and a soft spot for cuddles, Rex might just be your perfect match.

*Rex would love to get to know you better! Our behavior specialist can help you get to know him better with complimentary training sessions! Email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information!*

Walk-ins are welcome! Stop by during our open hours to meet our available dogs!!

Before you can adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/36924/generic! Once your questionnaire is pre-approved, you will be able to meet our pets. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants.

The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
