My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rio

Rio was adopted from us as a puppy in 2024 the last of his litter to finally find a home. We thought his happy ending had begun.

But now, through no fault of his own, Rio is back with us. He doesn’t understand why. He keeps trying to make his way toward the front door, hoping to go back to the home he thought was forever.

Despite the heartbreak, Rio remains the same sweet, friendly boy. He’s always excited to meet new people, wagging his tail and offering love to everyone he meets.

If you’re looking to adopt or foster, please keep Rio in your heart.

More about this shelter

Judy’s Forgotten Jewells is a licensed Non-Profit No Kill Animal Rescue Group. It was founded by Patricia L. Smith DVM in honor of her mother’s childhood dog “Judy Dog” and Jewell Animal Hospital. Dr. Smith believes that ALL animals deserve quality pet care and a loving home. Our rescue is supported by volunteers, the hospital staff, and pet passionate people in our community who donate money and supplies. Our goal is to help the pets who are at risk of being euthanized, pregnant and or homeless.
