My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Bunbun was brought in by his previous owner on June 19, 2024.

Why Bunbun is the one for you:
Meet Bunbun - independent, playful, and full of personality! Bunbun is a spirited, litterbox-trained rabbit looking for an experienced rabbit owner that respects his need for space and freedom. He's not a snuggle bunny-he's a free-spirited little guy who prefers to keep all four paws on the ground and doesn't appreciate being picked up. But give him room to roam (stairs to zoom? even better), toys to toss, and greens to share, and he'll reward you with playful antics and the occasional sweet little nose "boop". Once you earn his trust, he'll accept gentle pats and may even nap nearby after a busy session of zoomies and toy flinging. He's sweet, tidy, and full of character-just don't expect a lap bunny. He thrives in a large enclosure (minimum 4'x4', but bigger is always better) and needs daily time to stretch his legs and explore. Bunbun is currently loving life in his foster home where he is allowed to free roam all day and he's keeping his paws crossed for a home that continues to provide lots of exercise time. If you're rabbit-savvy and looking for a bold little companion to bond with over fresh herbs and independent vibes, Bunbun might just be the "bun" for you. Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV2):
Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV2) is a highly contagious disease affecting rabbits. Due to its presence in San Diego County, all rabbits will receive a mandatory RHDV2 vaccine before adoption. Guests will be charged $14 for this vaccine upon adoption.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
