My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Patches and I'm a sweet young boy looking for a home to call my own. I'm approximately 1½ yrs. old and have tested negative for FIV/FeLV and am current on vaccines. I was rescued from a life outside where I lived with my siblings in the yard of a nice couple who took care of us. I was the sweetest of the littermates and I would brush up against our caregivers’ legs to express gratitude for the food and shelter that they provided. It so happened that some other cats in the neighborhood moved in on our space and because I never wanted to fight any of them, I got picked on. I retreated to spending most of my time keeping safe in a tree! Then one night a cat who was bigger and stronger attacked me while I was eating and we got into a scuffle. I got beat up and suffered a wounded right eye. Worse, my eye then became infected and I couldn't see a thing. Thankfully, my caregivers reached out for help and I made my way into a foster home. For the first couple of weeks my foster mom put eye-drops in the injured eye every day. While I didn't like it, I let her do it without complaining and now my eye is totally healed! The Vet says that it looks great and that my vision is normal! Can you imagine that I was outside in the cold and snow with a badly infected eye and I managed to make it through? I'm so grateful that I got rescued and I look forward to the rest of my life as a loving pet. I love to sit and be brushed and petted. I'm a good boy who would do best in a home without small children or dogs and where I can bond with one or two people. I dream about snuggling in my very own cat bed (or the couch if you allow it) and having a window seat where I can safely watch birds outside. I use my litter box and scratching post and I would be perfectly happy as an only cat. Please come see me at North Bergen Petsmart.
