Watch out World, Kepler is here to discover you! Spinning all the way from Puerto Rico, this dynamo needed a more peaceful place to harness his energy than our busy adoption center. A move to our quiet Long Term Care Home was just what he needed to soak in the bliss that’s been missing from his life. Catio time has soothed his soul, but he still enjoys a good romp around the room chasing toy butterflies. Kepler is going to need an experienced human ready to follow his lead. He wants this planet all to himself, so no other pets will be entertaining him for you. Not to worry, he’s totally worth the time you invest in him. Your guidance in a consistent, vibrant home with no young kids to distract him, will make Kepler ready to explore a whole new world with you!

When you come down to NSALA an associate will help you figure out what kind of animal will do best in your situation. At that point they will take out the animals you are interested in so that you may get to know them. You will have plenty of time to play and interact with your new friend in our family friendly areas designated for that purpose. When you decide you want to adopt, an associate will help you fill out an application.

Our adoption fees are as follows:
Puppies (up to 6 months) $350
Adult Dogs (over 6 months) $100
Puppy Mill Rescues $250
Small Breed & Pure Breeds (over 6 months) $250
Kittens (up to 6 months) $100
Double Kittens $150
Adult Cats (over 6 months) $50
Double Adult Cats $75

Where applicable, a $50 Spay/Neuter deposit is required for kittens, $75 for puppies.

Our Adoption Center, is open every Thursday-Sunday 12pm-8pm. On average, our shelter is home to 350 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. Behind the scenes, the Adoption Center contains a nursery area, medical examination room and a grooming area where new admissions are health checked, vaccinated, bathed and groomed.

Visitors are reminded that adoption is a lifelong commitment. After selecting a pet, each potential adopter is thoroughly screened, ensuring each adopter recognizes the life-changing commitment a new pet can be. To date, over 1,000,000 pet owners have met our high standards and adopted a pet from North Shore Animal League America.
