Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
ooking for a clever companion who’s as sharp as he is sweet? Say hello to Billy — a smart, spirited 3.5-year-old medium mixed breed pup who's ready to turn your world into one big, fun learning adventure!
Billy is the kind of pup who gets it. Fast. Whether it's mastering new tricks, picking up a routine, or figuring out how to open that treat jar (watch out!), Billy’s brain is always buzzing. He loves to keep busy — puzzles, toys, games of keep away with said toys, walks, training games, you name it — this guy is ready to rise to the challenge. And his hidden talent? Catching blueberries mid-air like a pro!
Billy’s currently living the good life in foster, where he’s showing off his excellent housetraining skills and making sure everyone knows when he’s got something important to say (especially to the KTs — that's kennel techs, but Billy says it like he’s on a first-name basis).
He’s a loyal soul at heart, but he’s got a little “stranger danger” vibe going on — he likes to size up new people before deciding they’re worthy of his friendship (which honestly? Big respect). A little patience and some tasty treats go a long way to win him over.
Billy’s dream home is one that’ll celebrate his smarts, keep him mentally and physically engaged, and understand that the best relationships are built on trust, snacks (especially blueberries), and a little bit of time.
Ready for a dog who’s smarter than your average bear and twice as cute? Billy’s your guy!

More about this shelter
At Darbster Rescue, our goal is to place kittens, cats, and dogs with great, forever homes in New England. The pets are primarily from South Florida and other southern states where the euthanasia rates are very high. Our shelters are in New Hampshire which has a strong demand for pets relative to supply and where shelters like ours are strictly no kill operations. Our animals will go to their new homes spayed or neutered, UTD on shots and a clean bill of health from FL and NH. We are here to help everyone look for the perfect match for themselves and their family.
