Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Leelee!
Leelee is a 16-pound Maltese with a heart full of love, ready to be the baby in her forever home! After raising her puppies, she’s embracing her playful side and showing just how affectionate she can be.
She may be a little shy and skittish for a bit, sometimes barking when meeting new people—but never out of aggression. Leelee was a puppy mill momma and never really understood human touch, it's taken her several months to warm up to her foster mom and still runs from her at times. This behavior is the result of being in a puppy mill for one reason. LeeLee was adopted last year and lived in the home for a few months but the adopters did not head our advice that you will have to force love onto LeeLee. You will have to basically corner her to pick her up but she has never once been aggressive, she just needs to learn that humans are good people. Once she knows you’re her person, she’ll adore you from afar and light up with excitement when you walk into the room!
Leelee is highly food- and praise-motivated, making her eager to bond and learn. She enjoys cuddling (when forced LOL), playing with hands, spending time outside, and chasing other dogs.
She’s crate trained and potty trained, with a dog door. Leelee MUST go to a home with other dogs, as she looks to them for safety and reasurrance. She tends to warm up to women a little faster than men but has so much love to give to the right family, that will understand her past and help her know love and safety.
If you’re ready to welcome Leelee into your heart and home, let us know! She’s waiting to find her forever family.
