Here's what the humans have to say about me:
** Brisket is in our shelter, and is available for foster or adoption! Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet + greet! **
Brisket has been slow-roasting in the shelter since July 2024, and frankly… she’s done. Correct: she doesn’t get along with other pets. Also correct: she gets along with people beautifully. If you’ve got snacks, a couch, and no competition for her affection, you just met your new best friend.
This tricolor American Bully mix is 65 pounds of low-riding love with a passion for sunbeams and sitting exactly where you were about to. She’s the perfect combo of cuddle bug and tug-of-war champion, with a side of “find it” champ for dessert.
Brisket insists on being your one and only—other pets need not apply—but she’s done great with older kids. She’d love a yard, but she’s totally down for life as a leash-walk girlie with the right human(s). She’s muzzle trained—not because she’s a menace, but because the city can be unpredictable and she likes to keep her strolls safe and drama-free.
So, if you’re ready for a loyal, loving, slightly chunky sidekick with an A+ sense of humor, Brisket is ready to clock out of shelter life and clock in as your full-time couch buddy.
Come meet her at Chicago Canine Rescue—she’s waiting, and she’s not above giving you the look until you say yes.

More about this shelter
CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.
CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
