Their adoption process

All canines entering the U.S. must have health certificates and a Permit Entry issued by The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and an entry number issued by The Department of Homeland Security. Our volunteers will prepare all the necessary paperwork.

The health certificates are in both Korean and English so you can show the health certificate to your veterinarian.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
Please fill out the adoption application https://forms.gle/v7XCvFicGUQHG6iZ9
You will also need to submit pictures of your home and family.
  2. Interview
We will go over your adoption app and ask questions to ensure your home and family life style are suitable to welcome a dog from Korea!
  3. Approve Application
Once your application is approved, we will provide you with all the detailed information and resources to ensure a smooth transition
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
While we are waiting to find a flight volunteer, we will have you sign the adoption contract.
  5. Pay Fee
Once we secure a flight volunteer, we'll invoice you for the adoption fee, covering all flight-related costs for your new dog.
  6. Take the Pet Home
You'll pick up your dog at the airport. We'll have a Zoom meeting with volunteers beforehand to ensure everything is set.

More about this rescue

Last Chance for Korean Dogs (LCKD) is a non-profit dog rescue organization based in South Korea. We are a 100% volunteer-run organization and we are dedicated to saving dogs from euthanasia in high-kill shelters and the brutal dog meat trade.

After the rescue, we provide the medical care and rehabilitate the dogs at our office, foster homes, and training facility in South Korea until they are healthy enough to be sent for adoption to loving homes in the United States, Canada and Europe.
