My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi friends, I'm Seren. My name means "star" in Welsh, and I'd love to be your superstar.

I'm a real love bug, and everyone I meet is my new best friend, so I know we'll get along great! I’m still a young gal and always ready for play and affection. I love getting to spend time outside, and I get the cutest zoomies when I get excited. I love all kinds of toys - if you toss me one, I'll happily entertain myself for a long time! I'm good around other dogs and kids. I’m also a real fan of cuddles at the end of the day.

I have the cutest ears and soft, dark brown coat. And check out my stunning white booties. So if you’re looking for personality, affection and charm, I can’t wait to meet you!

A team member says, "Seren is such a sweet, smart girl. She attaches to you very quickly and will give you plenty of gentle kisses before snuggling up either beside you or on your lap."

Adoptions are completed on a first come, first served basis. Please note there may be a wait to meet with a pet, dependent on advisor availability.

Please allow plenty of time to meet your perfect pet. Once you have selected a pet, the adoption process will take at least 30 minutes. We do not begin the adoption process after 5:30 pm.

Please note, visitors must wear their mask indoors at all Animal Humane locations.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1965, Animal Humane New Mexico is the state’s leading private 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organization serving more than 10,000 homeless and at-risk dogs & cats each year. We never euthanize based on age or length of stay and since 2010, have re-homed 100% of healthy pets in our care. We support every companion animal at Animal Humane with outstanding veterinary, social and emotional care, and love.

As a private nonprofit shelter, we receive no city, state or federal funding; each dollar judiciously spent is earned or raised. We are nationally recognized as a top U.S. charity based on financial accountability, transparency, and administrative-to-program cost ratios. Animal Humane is among only 9 percent of nationwide charities to have received five consecutive annual four-star evaluations, the highest possible, from Charity Navigator, including a top score of 100 for accountability and transparency.
