DOB 2/18/22 -Sam is a sweet boy who loves to be pet and purrs easily. When we first got Sam in 2023, he had some issues with aggression, but after getting neutered and spending an extended time in foster care, Sam is doing really well. He loves to be held and pet by volunteers at the shelter. Sam is playful with a wand toy, laser or sparkle ball when he's in the mood for play. He does very well with other cats. Sam would like a quiet home with another friendly cat for company. He doesn't like to wrestle, so would prefer a companion that doesn't tackle him.
Sam needs a home with an experienced cat owner who is willing to give him time to warm up to the home slowly and is comfortable giving him time to himself if he needs space or is feeling stressed.
Sam is on CD prescription urinary food. He has had past urinary blockages and PU surgery (perineal urethrostomy). It's unlikely he will block again but he needs to eat only the urinary food.

The first step in the adoption process is coming into the shelter to meet a cat. Once you have found the perfect match for you, you will fill out a one page adoption application. We will then do any necessary vet checks to make sure that if you have any existing pets that they are up to date on all vaccines and have been seen for regular vet care. Once you have been approved one of our volunteers will contact you to set up the adoption. The last step is one of our volunteers will bring the new member of your family to you and you will sign an adoption contract. We do not spay/neuter or give rabies to kittens under six months of age. If you adopt a kitten under six months you will be required to spay/neuter and give them their rabies at your expense. This will be in the adoption agreement. The adoption fees are $90 for one cat/kitten and $140 for two. All cats have been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, had their distemper booster, rabies if over six months, had fecal testing done and been de-wormed, they have been flea bathed, and have been spayed or neutered if over six months of age.
