Meet Monk – Your Playful, Joyful Companion!

Monk is a giant goofball with a heart full of love and an endless supply of energy! If you’re looking for a big puppy at heart who will bring laughter and excitement into your life, look no further.

About Monk:

  • Personality: Monk is all about fun! He is a goofy fella and  jumps right into play with other dogs.

  • Energy Level:  He just wants to run, play, and run some more—an active home would be ideal for him.But he would like to snuggle too.

  • Training Needs: He’s working on his manners and is eager to learn.

  • Social Butterfly: Monk has been to every event  and loves greeting people. He thrives in social settings!

  • Affection Level: High! Belly rubs are his absolute favorite—he’ll gladly flop over for all the love.

Compatibility:

Great with dogs who enjoy playful interactions

Not suited for cats

Fantastic with kids—he loves making new human friends

Monk is looking for a home that will embrace his big, playful personality and provide him with the space and structure to run, learn, and thrive. If you’re ready for a loyal, happy-go-lucky companion who will keep you smiling, Monk is the perfect match!

Go meet their pets

We have a weekly adoption fair at Petco in Danville, Va. where we bring some of our dogs and cats. Most are fostered in members' homes. If you see a dog on our web site, please call us and we will make an appointment for you to meet. We make every effort to match the dogs with their prospective homes. Go to http://spcaofpittsco.rescuegroups.org.

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated volunteers formed in 2007 to increase adoptions and reduce the kill rate from our local pound. We foster, vet, transfer and love all the dogs that we rescue and make every possible effort to place them in forever loving homes. We also operate a food bank to help keep pets in their homes. We are totally dependent on volunteers and donations from animal lovers like ourselves. We are saving and placing 20-30 dogs a month who would have been euthanized. We need you-Please help us save precious lives.
