Meet SNOWBALL!
SNOWBALL was saved from a high-kill shelter in Texas and arrived safely at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on August 3rd, 2024. We welcome adopters from across the East Coast and Canada — many of our families travel to meet their new best friend!

Health & Background
✅ Neutered
✅ Rabies and core vaccines up to date
✅ Monthly preventatives
✅ Heartworm and tick tested negative
✅ Microchipped with 24PetWatch
⚖️ Weighed approximately 60 pounds in early August
Estimated date of birth: September 2023
Breed unknown — we encourage families to look at photos and videos to make their own assessment!

SNOWBALL’s Personality
Sweet, gentle, and sensitive boy
Initially scared in the kennels, so he was brought to the house where he settled in beautifully with the senior dogs
Ignores the cats — calm and respectful
Excellent with other dogs — great with all sizes and ages
Best friends with TANIA (rescued from South Korea) — they sleep together, play together, and have become each other’s emotional support
A little skittish with sudden movements, but with time, builds strong trust — now comes up for affection and morning cuddles
Nervous on the leash when alone, but walks with much more confidence when with TANIA
Ideal home would be one that’s calm, loving, and active — providing plenty of physical and mental enrichment

Snowball & TANIA — The Perfect Pair
Since TANIA’s sister passed away, she and SNOWBALL have formed an inseparable bond
They bring out the best in each other and we would love to see them adopted together by a family ready to continue nurturing their friendship and confidence

What SNOWBALL Needs
A family that understands the needs of a shy dog and will provide positive experiences, patience, and encouragement
Mental and physical exercise — he’s still a young dog with energy to burn and curiosity to feed
High-quality food, fun toys, and a loving routine
Regular veterinary wellness care

More about this rescue

Founded by Jenny an English woman who found her way to Texas on 14th February 2011 in San Antonio, Texas we saved dogs from the high kill shelters in Texas.

In July 2015, Jenny relocated herself and the rescue to the beautiful state of Maine, it's weather and people much like that of her home in Northern England.

We still save dogs from the high kill shelters in Texas where dogs have just 3 days to be saved. We vet them, they have veterinary examination and are issued with health certificates and then transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine.
