My name is Peppa!

Peppa was born partially blind and deaf as the result of accidental breeding of two dogs with merle-patterned coats. This genetic condition is known as ''double merle.'' Double merles can live full, happy lives with the appropriate levels of care and support.

Blind and deaf dogs can learn easily through positive reinforcement and touch cues. At Hawaii Island Humane Society, we are dedicated to advocating for blind and deaf dogs like Peppa and are here to support their future families in helping their new dog grow and thrive.

1. Start by clicking the "Apply to Adopt" on my profile! Once you have filled out the adoption questionnaire, our Adoptions team will follow up with you via phone or email as soon as possible.
2. If Peppa could a match for you, the Adoptions team will schedule a meet and greet appointment at the shelter.
