My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Scobby — a big-hearted, happy-go-lucky guy ready to find his loving home!

At just 1 year old, Scobby is the perfect mix of gentle giant and playful youngster. He has a sweet, easygoing temperament and a generally adaptable nature that makes him a joy to have around. In the home, he loves being near his person and is happiest simply hanging out by your side.

Scobby is still learning his manners (he’s young, after all!), but he’s very manageable. On leash, he doesn’t pull excessively and responds well to calm handling and continued training. When he gets a little overexcited at home, stepping away and giving him space helps him reset quickly — he wants to do the right thing.

On walks, Scobby is impressively non-reactive. He notices people and other dogs but can disengage and move along without barking or lunging. Reports from Scobby`s latest foster home: House manners? Nailed it. Zero potty accidents. Did well when left alone (no mischief reported!) Mildly sensitive to loud noises but recovered quickly.

Mornings with Scobby are extra special. His favorite way to greet the day is with a gentle wet-nose sniff and a wagging tail, clearly thrilled to start another day with his human. It’s when his happiness shines the brightest. Scobby’s favorite things: Food and treats (a big motivator!). Walks. Car rides — truly mind-blowing for him. He loves sticking his head out the window and rides like a pro without bothering the driver.

Scobby would thrive with an adopter who can provide structure, consistency, and continued training, and who appreciates a large dog with a gentle soul. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s happy, affectionate, and eager to keep learning, Scobby might just be your perfect match. Come meet Scobby — he’s ready to ride shotgun straight into your heart.

He is a 1y old, male, Mixed Breed, Large (over 44lbs fully grown) mix. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations and preventions. Come and visit him today from 11am-7pm at 3201 Earhart Drive, Carrollton, Texas 75006!

Scobby is eligible for a 3-day trial adoption through our Foster First program. This program gives you and our pets time to ensure it`s a great match before finalizing the adoption. If interested in fostering through our Foster First Program, come to our Earhart shelter location for a meet and greet and to sign up to be a foster. https://www.operationkindness.org/foster/
