Mr. T (f.k.a.Taco) is an approximately 7-8 year old male Boston Terrier. He’s a big sweet boy weighing in around 28 pounds. He is so full of love and ready to share it with everyone that he meets!
Mr. T LOVES other dogs (at least all that he’s met while in foster care). He does really really want to play, so he will love to have either a very patient fur-sibling that will let him be a bit over excited at first or a fur-sibling that matches his playful vibe! Think of him as a big playful puppy!
Mr. T also loves walks and will wait by his leash and remind you daily that he is a good boy and should get to go on a walk!
Mr. T also loves toys and they are a must in the house. He tends to be a very mouthy/toothy player and thinks hands and feet are also toys when he’s excited (how puppies play bite hands/feet), and is actively learning to only use his mouth to play with toys. He will definitely need this training to continue in a patient furever home!
When Mr. T is not playing; you will find him happily snoozing in a sun beam or cuddled across a human’s lap. He is so sweet and sensitive and will make the perfect companion for the right home!
Mr. T has been with his sister, Sweet Pea, for a little over a year. While they aren’t “bonded”, they do enjoy each other’s company and are going through this major life transition of needing a new home, so we are hoping to find a home where they can stay together!
Mr. T is Heartworm negative, neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He is also house trained and crate trained. He does get allergies sometimes and he has been prescribed allergy meds when they flare up.
If you are interested in potentially meeting Sweet Pea and Mr. T - please fill out the adoption application available at www.texassweetiesdogrescue.org . The combined adoption fee for the pair - Mr. T and Sweet Pea - is $300.

The mission and vision for Texas Sweeties Dog Rescue is to save dogs of all sizes and all breeds by placing them into loving, forever homes. We are an all-volunteer, foster home based, certified 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization based in Austin, TX. We do not have a physical shelter. Instead, we operate primarily through our foster homes, online databases and at adoption events/expos.
The majority of our animals come from animal control groups and open admission shelters throughout Texas, where overcrowding and overpopulation lead to the euthanasia of millions of healthy, friendly pets every year.
We are committed to providing the dogs that come into Texas Sweeties Dog Rescue with the best possible care while they wait for their forever homes by acclimating them to life outside of a shelter and providing the appropriate veterinary care needed.
We also serve our community and adopters by educating and encouraging responsible pet ownership with an emphasis on the need for spaying and neutering.
We never euthanized animals due to space or time constraints, but we may elect to euthanize in the event of a severe, untreatable/debilitating illness or extremely dangerous behavioral concerns. Because we do not kill to make space, however, we cannot take in every animal that needs help.
Because our foster homes are the backbone of Texas Sweeties, and to help our organization run smoothly, it is our goal to provide the best experience possible. We encourage each foster home to be as involved as they are comfortable with and allow them the freedom to foster based on their needs, restrictions, or desires.
